Although BAS is known for painting a wide range of wildlife from around the world, he does at times concentrate on birds in particular. Research trips specifically for birdlife have taken him to Trinidad, parts of the USA, Bali in Indonesia and Walvis Bay, Namibia. Bas’ paintings exhibit a strong sense of composition and design, together with a strong use of color and light. He views his art as an appreciation of God’s creation.
