Bart is a wildlife artist that specializes in birds of all types. His artwork has been juried into the prestigious "Birds in Art" exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum ten times. His paintings of birds have been juried into the "Arts for the Parks" top 100 exhibition seven times and he won their "Bird Art Award" in 1994. His artwork has been juried into the Society of Animal Artists annual exhibition "Art and the Animal" nine times. Bart's paintings are included in the permanent collections of the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, The Bennington Center for the Arts, and the Massachusetts Audubon Society. His paintings have won numerous national awards, and he is the author and illustrator of three art instructional books (two on Birds) published by North Light Books.

Preferred species:

I like painting all birds, but I tend to gravitate towards birds of prey and birds that frequent the water, like shorebirds, waterfowl, herons, storks, egrets etc.

Preferred geographic region:

So far I've focused on birds from North America, and South America, but with my recent trips to Africa and India, birds from those locations will follow soon.
