Oscar Famili

Representative: Patricia Lawrence
kikilawrence@bellsouth.net

Born in 1969, Oscar Famili has been painting the natural world, his passion, for 20 years. With his brother Omid Famili and his friend G.Shahmiri, a professional mountain guide and artist in the Elburz Mountains (alt. 5,800 m) south of the Caspian Sea, Oscar began to photograph, sketch, and paint the rare wildlife that surrounded him on extended camping trips during his childhood.

As he became aware of the rarity and endangerment of these magnificent creatures, Oscars' attention began to focus on endangered wildlife worldwide. Painting on site, or from his private collection of photographs, Oscars' choice of background environment portrays each animal in its preferred seasonal habitat, in its natural home.

............."It is my wish to paint them with the dignity they deserve."

With great attention to detail, yet with a masters' eye for color, composition, and soul, Oscar feels the spirit of the animal can be found in the eyes. His is compelling work. In April 2005 Oscar's painting of the red fox, " Ever Watchful ", won Best of Show, and his painting of a kestrel, " Behind Those Eyes " won 3 rd place in the Artisans in Nature Jubilee, Matagorda, TX.. Oscar is a signature member of the Society of Animal Artists.
