My passion for birds began when I was a small boy. Much later, in the early 80s, I graduated in ornithology (Ph.D) at the University of Amsterdam. By then a keen birder, I constantly took notes on birds by making field sketches. To improve this sketching into art, I completed a study at the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague. Now, my passion for birds is evident not only by my birding, but is also reflected in my paintings, illustrations and field sketches. |
