Viktor was born in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk in 1951. He came from an old noble family on his father's side and a peasant family on his mother's side. Nature and arts aroused his interests and admiration from his earliest years. In his childhood Viktor dreamed of being a violinist, but a physical trauma, the result of a climbing accident, prevented him from realizing this dream, so he began to publish his caricatures (cartoons) in the local newspapers.
