During my adolescence, I lived close to the Paris Zoological Park where I spent much time observing and sketching animals. One day, while watching a Black Himalaya Collar bear (our noir a collier d'Himalaya) for a very long time, his look so absorbed me that I felt as if I had entered and traveled within his universe, touching lightly something imperceptible and fascinating. It was as though I recognized something that could be a common link among animals, human beings and all beings in the universe. But, even now years later, I am only at the beginning of my quest to understand.
